i also have this problem with my 97 sub impreza outback sport. although i have not had it fixed it has been diagnosed as a lazy lifter. repair consists of pulling the engine. very expensive. there is no quick fix. i noticed this problem at 120 and now i am standing at 133 with no problems with it so far. knock on wood. good luck

I have a '97 Outback Sport with 122K miles on it and it has one noisey Lifter that keeps on clicking until the engine is warm. I just bought the car and suspect the 100K Valve adjustment wasn't done. That is my next project....any comments anyone?.. Jim,Redmond, WA
