You need to locate the wiring harness for the keyless entry system under the dash. It has a programming button on it. It's on the left side of the steering column not far behind the hood release on mine. Assuming you find it, here's the drill: 1. Open the driver side door (leave it open) 2. Turn the ignition key to the ON position 3. Press and hold the programming button. In 15 seconds the system should respond by cycling the door locks 3 times. 4. Keep holding the programming button in and press "lock" on the transmitter. The door locks should cycle once. 5. Release the programming button and turn the ignition off.

CAVEAT: If step 4 doesn't work, press the lock button twice on the transmitter. Assuming you have more than one transmitter, you can repeat step 4 multiple times without going back to the beginning.

Let me know how it works. Bob

that the car will recognize my keyless remote. I have a 97 Subaru Outback. Thanks!

I have a 1999 Outback not sure if they are the same system but it states the following:

To enter into programming mode:

1 disarm security system 2 Open door sit in driver's seat 3 Close door 4 Place key in ignition and cycle the switch from lock to on 10 times within 15 seconds. Stop at the lock position and leave the key in the ignition. Horn should sound to indicate you are in programing mode.

To Program transmitter (must start no later than 45 seconds from above)

1 Open driver's door 2 close driver's door 3 press and release any button on the transmitter you wish to program

To exit program mode:

1 remove key from the ignition horn will sound three times to indicate it has exited from programming mode 2 check the transmitter > Can someone help me. I need to reprogram my keyless remote transmitter so

that the car will recognize my keyless remote. I have a 97 Subaru Outback. Thanks!
