shimmying

i have a 98 forester with 103,000 miles. problem: sometimes shimmying on left front wheel. more often when going up hill. stops when i let up on accelerator. rotated tires, no change. bot new set of yokohama avids, no change. probably worn part in front wheel?

Might be a wheel bearing. I've had one of those go and it felt like shimmying, esp. when driving on a hard right-hand turn.
