A couple of years ago I was back home in Australia and my Dad was telling me that the local police have a bastard of a time if they have to chase an STi, not only on gravel roads, in town is a challenge too.

I have seen pictures of WRX police cars in New Zealand. Always wondered if they are for real, or just a joke. Maybe someone in this ng can clear this up..

I'm not sure if they still do, but the police in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia used to have WRXs as chase cars.

I haven't seen any, but you never know.

On the other hand, the standard-issue police car, the Holden Commodore already handles a couple of orders of magnitude better than a Crown Victoria, and comes with plenty big enough engines.
