I heard of a Subaru dealer that makes most of his profit from used cars and little off new cars. Anyone makes me aware of new offer they have makes me think, it is more profit for them. That's OK, it's the capitalist system at work ;)

I think this is true especially for subaru, which seem to be alittle more expensive then some will pay (and worth it imo) but they will pay a premium for a used model which is where the dealer makes his biggest profit. This trade-in deal does give the customer a better then usual deal though..not the usual wholesale price.

I'm actually thinking of getting a Tribeca,I found several 06 low mileage Nav equpted for approx 28k..about 10k less then the same 07.

Seemed like a good deal but I wont buy another subaru since the new styles and driving experience are ten steps below the up to 04 models. Prices are way too high too. If I buy another vehicle it proba bly wont be subaru. I love my 04 OBW but it was If you have an 02 or newer roo, take a look at:

I didn't do any pricing or even have any buying intention, but Subaru lost me as a customer on anything like the '06 I drove as a loaner. (My '00 was getting a free head gasket job). The driver's seat legroom was horrible; and I'm only running a 30 inch inseam! IT appears they got the new/improved rear seat legroom by stealing it from the driver.

I run with the seat about 2" forward (from back) on the '00, all the way had my knees up way too far. I could have steered with my knees if I wanted to.

I fell in love with the SI-Drive tho.. too bad they screwed up the seats

Subaru makes several cars, which one didn't fit you? I currently drive a

03 Legacy Wagon which I love and at 6' 1" 220 I have ample room, the Tribeca is the largest in it's group Touag,MDX,Lexus330 and better all around espcially in bad weather..I've looked at them all and none have a tested TRUE AWD system like a subie...isn't that why we love them so much and not to mention it's many other attributes. :)

I actually *almost* believed the hyp on other luxury suv's until I looked at the tribeca..forget price,it's just better period and IMO,buying a near new 06 loaded limited tribeca exc.demo with lost me as a customer on anything like the '06 I drove as a loaner. (My

That was a '06 (Legacy) Outback that crimped my style.

Same(car) dimensions as my '00 (Legacy) Outback, and about my same overall body dimensions. I think I may have more of 'me' from the hips up as I have short(30" inseam)legs. That's why I was flabbergasted at the '06 legroom.

That long upper body makes it difficult to enter/exit an Imprezza, but otherwise I fit well in my wife's 97 OBS. ( I wanted a Forester for myself but the local used market is such that one in decent shape is sold ahead of time. Fullsize OBs are now getting somewhat common on the used market.)

I'm not the original poster, he's the one trying to compare other stuff to Soobs. I'm planning on keeping my '00 OB a *very long time*, same as my wife's '97 OBS (Imprezza). The only reason I was driving the '06 was as a loaner.

Personally, I loathe the looks of *all* the newer larger SUVs. They all have the "glazed toad" look.

My point is that Subaru's marketing/design teams are (at times) either at war with each other or they collectively screw up together.
