Timing a 97 @.2 Impreza

I purchased a service CD and found the timing mark picutre. When I started to replace the blet on my vehicle the Cam marks did not line up with the crank marks. Can any one make any suggestions. Example, when belt marks were aligned with cam positionnotches, the cams were not aligned, When the cam marks were aligned, the crank key and pulley knotch were not alighed with any thing. Any suggestions?

I've read some posts along the way about lining/not lining up the marks.

Found the same situation recently on my 2000. One of cam sprockets off by about a half tooth. Spoke with a independent Subaru mech and he said it is not uncommon.

I ended up going with alignment that gave the closest setting. I also noted the marks on the new belt were spaced differently (several teeth off) than info in the manual said but when installing, found the marks to be good.
