tires on a budget????

I just put the Goodyear triple treads on my car. The final cost was $440 (after rebate). They have proved to be quieter than the stock tires, very good in rain and snow, and also allow you to enjoy some spirited driving too! The tire has an 80,000 mile warranty as well.

Check around for prices - I got quotes for $120 through $150 per tire (final price tax & installation included but before rebate).

I also have the BFGoodrich Comp T/As on my other car. They also are good, come with a 60,000 mile warranty. They are alittle more performance oriented and not quite as good in snow/ice though. They are alittle less expensive too.

Does anyone have any experience with yokohama tires?

I put the regaatta 2s on my wifes car - they too are good. But I think the triple treads are better (for the little bit more they cost).

Years ago, I put Yokohama A378 tires on my Saab. I liked them.

I usually buy tires from

Yokohama YK420. Had them on my Outback and loved them. Good bang for the buck, I mean there were better tires but they were a lot more money, but going any cheaper there seemed to be a large quality drop.

tiretrack.com or, even better, one of their sales people. The tires are like half price - you pay $30 to ship them to you or a local installer who charges you. I did lots of research and went with Yokohama Avid Touring - $50 each, quoted $111 at a local place.

Did you get an alignment done with that?

I bought those and they're nice. They're much quieter than the Potenza

I paid $320 with mounting but one of the tires was slightly out-of-round and had to be replaced by the dealer. Not sure about Kunho's QA, but we'll see how they hold up.
