I agree their list is too short. How about:

crowd, pile, heap, assembly, union, bunch, gang, congregation, load, collection, ...

Of course, their character only fits one: a loose association of Subarus.

all of the outta touch latecomers say that! ;^)

We ran the open thread for quite a while, asked 2 other forums and this NG to participate.(evidently a lot of folks just can't be bothered to register-vote-unregister). I think we have 27 good candidates (though from previous and most recent indications - looks like 'cluster' may win).

Feel free to vote for your favorite - we left off more words than you can imagine. It's a free country - you can use whatever term you like.

Indeed, I have been out of touch ('been traveling).

Well, looks like the astronomers won (the Pleiades = Subaru are an open, albeit somewhat untypical cluster).

Constellation is just wrong (that's pretty much the opposite of a cluster: stars that look such that we like to group them visually in the

2-D projection we see in the sky, but they are not related by birth nor distance to each other).

I still like association better, because cluster infers a relationship that these cars, if gathered at random, would not have.

While traveling in the bay area, I just saw an association of 6 Foresters in an Andronico's (upscale health and World food) parking lot.

It isn't over yet - some folks want a name that's 'aggressive' like troop, convoy - swarm, has a following (due to alliteration and perhaps monosyllabic?) kinda a fun exercise, kinda bandwidth wasting too.

There are few Subarus here in D/FW are, comparatively, and when we drove our new OBW to Co.Spgs. to visit our oldest daughter my wife got excited just seeing 2 Soobs parked next to each other and one wasn't ours!

just go register-vote-unregister if you want too - but those USMB folks have been a nice bunch - you might stay.
