1996 Ford Explorer Fuel pump Problem

Aug 22, 2011 4 Replies

Replaced fuel pump but it is still not working.Pump is only getting 6 volts when the key is on.

Well, go measure it on the relay output side. Still see 6V?

If so, go measure it on the relay input side.

Keep working your way up the wiring diagram until you either get 12V or you get to the battery.

how did you manage to resist the "wtf were you doing replacing the pump without checking the feeds first" response? all i could manage was to not respond at all...

I only get into that mode when they replace the alternator because of a fuel delivery problem....

i salute your much higher threshold.
