Friend has a 96 bonneville ssei and needs to change the fluid in the supercharger. Does anyone know how this is done?
It does not hold much, special fluid, its been a long time - I forget whether I did it with a siphon tube or found a drain plug. Should be obvious with the cover off.
The manual for my Buick recommends checking the level when cold. There is a filler plug toward the back of the nose cone on the side facing the front of the car. The manual recommends having a qualified mechanic service the supercharger.
I've heard others in this NG say you can siphon out the old oil. GM Parts counters carry supercharger oil. Fill the supercharger up till the level reaches the bottom of the threads on the filler hole.
Service interval is 30,000 miles.
