Air filter on chevy venture.

Hi Folks,

I'm having great difficulty changing the air filter on my 2003 chevy venture. The filter box is situated sideways and to the side where the covering and air filter need to be removed there is a hefty coolant pipe, some hefty electrical wiring and an accordian-like hose that connects from the box to the engine which is very small and very un-maneuverable. I tried removing this accordian-like hose, but the lip of the box covering is too long and I would not be able to get it off without some significant force (I do not want to break anything). Has anyone figured out a way to change this thing?

Thanks!

Yes, remove the (as you describe it) accordian-like hose. Then it's quite easy to remove the air box cover. You will notice that the air filter cover has tabs on the bottom that engage holes in the bottom of the air box. In order to make things easier for reassembly, I always lubricate the air filter seal so that the cover will slide easily along the air filter as you install the cover and not rip the seal on the air filter.
