Gonna put a used one in my '06 Crown Vic cop car (83K miles), as mine acts like it has low line pressure at low rpm. It slips at low rpm in 3 or OD, light acceleration from a stop and it slips going into 3, and OD hunts at any rpm under 2200. Keep rpms up above 2500 while accelerating, and all 4 gears shift nice, no slippage.
Long story short, I'm gonna rebuild my original, and put it back in. What should I be looking for on disassembly and reassembly, other than obvious galling, or worn diameters?
What electronic parts would you replace with new, just as good insurance?
Any valve body advice, wear points to look for, etc.?
I've done about a dozen TH350's and TH400's, and 2 727's, but no electronic controlled trannies. I've read about the rapid oscillation of valves in the valve body, but am confused as to the types of repairs. Sonnax's web site isn't very user friendly.
