Man, how many times have I wished there were an economical way I could have a lift!

I don't know about these, but have seen similar in the range of $2000 plus or minus.

In my adopted home country of Norway, we had certain service stations, particularly Statoil, where one could rent a stall with lift, vent, etc. Compressed air was available, as was a place to put your junk parts and used oil.

We could buy some parts on site.

We payed NOK 40 per hour for this, and when it is 15 below zero Celsius, this isn't a luxury, it is a necessity.

I don't know why someone doesn't have a similar sort of rental hall in the USA. Bet it would stay full. (Probably too much liability)

I purchased a used lift last year. I found it on E-bay but it was for sale locally. The 4 post lift would not be my choice since many repairs require the removal of a wheel or more. I recommend a 2 post lift. And the 2 post is usually less money than a 4 post. Check on E-bay, new lifts are available on auction.

I prefer a 2 post over a 4 post. It makes it easier to get at the tires and stuff. Figure $2-3k for the lift and 6" thick high strength concrete that has fully cured to mount it on.

NOK 40 = $5.55 USD and thats quite inexpensive for an hour in a bay with a lift and compressed air.

Trial lawyers would have a field day.. First time someones car falls off the lift onto them -- it would be all over.
