Auto Locking Hubs and Brake Job

I have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4X4 with autolocking hubs. I'll probably need to replace my disks along with the pads. I'm planning on doing this myself but have never done a brake job before. I consider myself somewhat mechanically inclinded but I'm just getting into auto repair. Are brake jobs (with disk replacement) a big deal on a 4X4 with auto lock hubs? I have the Clymer manual so I probably have enough info to work through it, but I don't want to have to call a tow truck if I screw it up. Is it straight forward enough or is this best left to a professional?

Never done brakes on a 4X4, but if you just disassemble one side at a time, you can't get into too much trouble. Good luck!

My steering wheel does a little dance from side to side (shutters) when I brake hard so I figured the rotors needed to be turned/replaced too. I guess I should check and make sure before I go replacing them or maybe just have the local store resuface them. Thanks.
