Check engine light 2000 Taurus:

Oct 08, 2003 2 Replies

Hi a buddy gave me his 2000 Taurus 3.0L to look at. It has 36,000 miles and the check engine light is on. I did pull one code, P1413 "manufacturer controls, auxillary emissions control". How should I interpret this code, or is it a dealer software update?

Thanks in advance,

Bush

The P1-series codes are manufacturer-specific, which is probably why the scan tool didn't have a definition for it. Code P1413 on a Ford seems to be "Secondary Air Injection System Monitor Circuit Low".

Spoke with SM at Ford dealership, says change EGR elctronic control (DPFE) switch, reset ecm.
