escort - door chime wiring

Sep 07, 2005 1 Replies

howdy. i want to wire a switch into the warning chime circuit, so that i can choose to easily/temporarily disable the door chime.

i have located the chime, inside a plastic enclosure behind the fuse/other-electric-stuff module on the left side floor of the driver's footbox.

however, i can not get this box off, can not remove the module to get a better view/angle, and dont know if either is possible or practical.

does anyone have a better idea? insider knowledge? a FSM that would shed some light?

alternately, i was thinking i could disable the key-in-ignition switch temporarily, but for some reason am having trouble removing the cover panels around the steering wheel.

thoughts here?

thanks, anthony (97 escort wagon)

cut into the ground with a toggle switch from the door button ?
