I've got a 87 Astro 4.3 TBI that I'm trying to check fuel pressure and flow. The pressure is running about 10 lbs and should be OK but when I try and check flow I can only get the pump to run for a few seconds when I turn the key on . Do I have to do something to keep the pump running or is this part of my problem ? Thanks.........

The fuel pump will only run for 2 seconds without the engine running. There should be a fuel pump test connector somewhere that you can jumper to get the pump to run continuously..
