i have a kind of weird problem every morning with my 02 impreza (35k miles). after reversing out of the driveway, getting into 1st gear, then 2nd, then driving down half a block to a stop sign, i have a very hard time getting into 1st again. meaning, it's very difficult to put the shift knob into 1st gear position. this only happens once a day--after i finally wiggle it in, everything's fine until the next morning (no problems on the evening commute). also, before i do any driving, i have no problems moving the shifter around to any gear, it only happens after the first time i go 1st -> 2nd -> neutral. anyone have any ideas why this would happen? thanks.
