What's the best way to get car wax (liquid Meguiar's Gold Class, if that matters) out of towels?
I want to do my wax buffing using a clean set of towels every time.
I tried machine washing them (Tide) then I dried them in the dryer, but they still have some wax embedded in them. Is there something I can soak them in, then wash them thoroughly to get it all out?
Did drying them ruin them and make the wax permanent?

I usually have reasonably good luck by rinsing them in hot water after use to get rid of the bulk wax, then dump them in a bucket of Wisk and water for a coupla days...then rinse and wash with Wisk and a bit of fabric softener in the dryer.
If they feel at all rough, just buy another pack at the auto parts store.
Maybe. Try soaking them for a coupla days in really strong liquid detergent. If you have any Goo Gone or other orange peel derived degreaser, soak in that first. And use cheaper towels.
I usually use old sweatshirts for polish...softer. Then trashcan after 1-2 washings.
I let it soak with hot water and laundry detergent in the sink for a while, swishing it around occasinally. I might do a second pass if it doesn't all dissolve out the first time. Make sure you got all the stuff out before you dry them. And don't use anti-static sheets in the dryer.
