There is another possibility.
My daughter in law also had one of these cars. When the CV's wore out, son replaced them. The new one popped out the first time he took it on the LA freeway.
Seems the parts house gave him what they thought to be the right one, but maybe there was more than one option for these. Don't remember the exact excuse.
Anyway, when he replaced them with the right parts, they worked fine.
