Perhaps so. Neil knew what he was talking about and took up for himself, but I never saw him be as volatile as I can sometimes be. Although I never met him, I feel I have lost a friend.

Sad. I remember a poster Neil Nelson from back in the day, but didn't realize that he was "aarcuda" (I did take a several year hiatus from usenet back in the late 90's) He'll definitely be missed.

Oh, I am sure you have read his posts; maybe you just didnt associate the name with the person. He was one of the most authoritative people on this group, but usually mild spoken.
