Concerning those outfits like CarFax (I think that's the one, but am not sure) that offer maintenance reports and repair history on used cars, I am wondering where the info comes from ?
I guess they can get it from Dealerships performing work on the car, but I don't see how it can contain work done by local service stations.
Might anyone provide any information on how they do it, from what source(s), etc.
