I have a 1991 Camry DX, and my father has one just like it only his gets approx. 30 mpg, and mine gets 25 mpg. I was wondering if anyone knows of a remedy for me to use to solve this low gas mileage.

Mileage depends on a lot more than just the model. Considering the weather, highway vs. city driving, maintenance, tire inflation, driving style, etc. and you may be doing OK. My 4-cyl 2 liter 87 Camry got

27-28 around town, and could do 40+ on the highway. If the car is in good shape and well maintained, you might try driving more conservatively or adjust your expectations.

Assuming that both cars:

1) have roughly the same mileage; 2) have the same engine in the same condition and mileage, (condition means exactly the same tune-up and maintenance parts); 3) have the same type of transmission in the same condition 4) have the same tire and tire inflation; 5) are driven on the same roads at the same time of day for the same distances; 6) use the same brand of gas; 7) carry the same amount of weight when driven

Then switch cars with your father for a week. If he gets 30 mpg out of your car and you get 25 mpg out of his car, then you know that driving styles or conditions are the cause.

Trade with your dad for a month and see if the mileage difference follows the car or the driver. My guess is you press the pedals with more gusto that dear old dad, and this accounts for the difference.
