I bought an 88 Camry and have replaced half the car (it seems!) So far have replaced CV boots, tie rod ends, exhaust, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, etc. We finally had it running pretty good when it just died (while driving.) It cranked fine but wouldn't turn over. No spark to any of the plugs. We replaced the ignition coil and it started up fine... ran good til I put it in reverse, at which time it died again. Haven't had the time to pull out the new ignition coil and see if it burnt up too (the old one was visibly bad.) Also, put in new battery before all of this and now it doesn't keep a charge. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing these problems? We think there might be a short in the electrical system, but aren't sure where to start to find it.
