I would not try the kerosene trick. The kerosene probably does not provide enough lubrication, and sludge may be dislodged and circulated throughout the engine and lodge elsewhere.

But that's not true.
Today's synthetics don't make leaks worse.
That was true in years past.
But leaks is not an issue.
I am not sure. They way the make the oils has changed. It has something do with the particular molecules uesd.
However, Mobil1 also adds conditioners to seals.
BOOM!!!!!
Like I said, Marvel Mystery flush to do it yourself, or take it and have a BG dealer flush done...
