Damn...got the wrong tube...

I guess the AT cooling system broke before, because when I got the tubing I ordered ,it was...tubing. What is on the car now looks like some contraption somebody cobbed together rather than buying the parts from Toyota.

The problem *I* have now is that the tube I NEED is totally unavailable...

This is NOT a good thing. This means that *I* am going to have to cob something together and run the risk of again springing a leak in ??? years. I want to hold onto the car; I guess I'll have to buy a junk one for parts.

Even tried Toyota USA "This part has been recently discontinued"

Well, there are five in my small town alone, and I know of about 12 more in the area; guess they are still pretty popular, eh?

I have a friend at a parts store that makes hydraulic lines; I guess I'll have to have him come up with something.

It looks like 10mm tubing; if I could see what the original looked like I could probably take some 3/8" brake line and fabricate one myself.

Get some 3/8" rubber hose and some slightly smaller metal tubing. Cut the metal tubing to fit, connect it with the rubber hose. Done and done.

I believe that was what was done before. I have no idea when...

Hachi,

Send me an e-mail - I'll give you the name of someone who is a wizard at tracking down obscure parts. If he can't find it, then it can't be had.
