I have to say, I don't like the budlight immigration one at all. It looks at our illegal immgration problem way too lightly.

Looks like one really great commercial was ignored on these sites because it was a little early - - the Ford commercial in High Def with all the parts of their pickup frozen in a huge 3D exploded view which then came together and assembled into the complete truck. Man, that was cool!

Pre-game and post game commercials are not included. In order for it to be considered as a true Super-Bowl Commercial, they must fork over 2.5+ million for the 30 second spot.

I try to stay out of OT threads, but...

My favorite was Rock, Paper Scissors!

Who was the idiot who picked him for the entertainment?

My favorite was the Doritos ad with the checkout lady.

This year's commercials were all rather lame for the most part.

I gotta agree. It was a disappointing year for new commercials..... I have no favorites this year, which might be a first. Tomes

Did it also show the truck self destructing in 10,000 miles...???

Agreed.

I recorded the whole thing, in case I wanted to review some of the commercials.

The recording was erased as soon as the Bowl was over...

In general I'd say they were the most bring collection of Superbowl Ads in years. I do wonder who would buy anything from go_daddy.com. Seems like a low class operation to me.

No, that was the Tundra commerical.

I did sort of laugh at the tag line on the Tundra commerical - something like - this changes everything. Finally Toyota admited the previous Tundra was a joke and that they had to change everything in order to build a real truck. About time they admited they don't know crap about trucks.

Is there some reason to presume the characters in that commercial were illegal? And they were depicted as wanting to learn English.

I thought Bud did generally well. That commercial was OK. The hitchhiker ad was great. "He's got an axe!" "Yeah, but he's got Bud light!" And the "instant Dalmation" ad was very good, especially the part where he gets hugged.

The very best ads, IMHO, were for CareerBuilder.com. Funny! Once again, the best humor is grounded in grim reality.

The great thing about Toyota is that they learn....

Seems GM and Ford are not....

I bet Wagoner and Mullaly aren't laughing. What was Emunds' Inside Line take on this truck? I pointed it out to you earlier, Tundra wins against the Silverado. In their test, it even turned in 12% better fuel economy.

And the previous Tundra, while it might have been smaller and/or less capable than Ford and GM full-sizers, was not a joke. I know two people with them and those are very nice trucks on which Toyota was probably making money.

If I recall correctly, Toyota's only planning 20K units/month or so. That's a very modest goal and it seems to me likely that they can easily sell those to the latest crop of disgruntled GM and Ford owners. Toyota will make money and continue to enhance the product.

For some reason this spot tickled me, too....and when the woman repeats "and an AXE!" The guy reflects and says "I'm sure there's a good reason...." Then they top it with the chainsaw wielder. funny!

Of course they went on to declare the Tundra the winner, even though the "Silverado squeaked a minuscule lead over the Tundra in the evaluation portion of our scoring." So what does that mean? In their evaluation the Silverado was the better truck, but they declared the Toyota the winner anyhow? That makes for some deep BS in my mind. And then they didn't even include the best selling truck (the F150) in the compariosn. More BS. And finally, the excuse for declaring the Tundra the winner, even though it lost on points, was that it was more capable. 99% of Tundra buyer won't need those capabilities. And for people that do, Chevrolet sells the Silverado HD. That way the owner who only need a truck for the semi-yearly trip to Lowes don't have to buy more than they need.

I did catch the Toyota Tundra Super Bowl commercial where they showed the Tundra drag racing down a phony (i asumme CG) strip. Total BS. Who buys a truck to drag race? I'll tell you who - people who should have bought a car.

I know at least five people with them. None are used for anything more strenuos that driving to work. That doesn't make them a truck. To be honest, I actually preferred the size of the current (or now old) Tundra. I already had marked the F150, Silverado, Titan, and Ram off my list becasue they were too jacked up and too big for my application (actually using the truck on a small farm). The new Tundra get the heave ho as well. In my mind it is now less useful. Someday I may be forced to buy a larger truck to tow a cattle trailer. When I need one for that, I am going straight for an F250 or F350.

They did say these two trucks have outclassed the remaining choices.
