Overheating Engine

Jul 05, 2005 2 Replies

I have a 1991 Toyota Celica that overheats. Coolant fan wasn't working. I corrected that problem, but it still overheats. How difficult is it to change the thermostat?

3sge engine - stat middle left of the block I think. Drain water,Take the hose off, slip in a ratchet and take off the bolts, off comes housing and stat. Stats are almost always a piece of cake to change. J

Why do you think its the thermostat? Is you rad blocked? How badly did the engine overheat? You may have a head gasket on the way out. Changing the thermostat is simple test.
