It wouldn't have been that difficult for Dean to back strong gun control measures in Vermont, one of the most liberal states in the nation, with even its Republicans tending to be more to the right than many Democrats elsewhere. Why, they even have a socialist US Senator!

Nope. I think an instant background check, utilizing ALL available databases, is essential.
You'd have to be stupid to think otherwise in light of Virginia Tech.
