My guess is 70% of Obama voters are completely ignorant of his past voting record or radical influences. The press did a masterful job of remaking him into a mild-mannered moderate politician that will change the entire Washington structure. He has effectively been reincarnated into a Jesus figure -- the Messiah.
Now whether he's all they've cracked him up to be remains to be seen. Unfortunately I don't see any parallels with Jesus yet but I do see many similarities with another charismatic, influential leader who wasn't quite what the people bargained for later.
