I drove a Gremlin for a few years, bot it for working on copiers and put some serious miles on it. that is until the wiring burned up one day while I watched. Great car, ok mileage, Best darned AC I've ever had in a car. I liked it lol. Good 80's car.

Driving an 07 Corolla now and likeing it much better with radials on it. Bot it salvaged pretty cheap but in good condition. Keep it up, stay satisfied with it and I save money for better things.

Things I like about the Corolla:

  1. Timing Chain :)
  2. 1.8 ZFE is good on gas, and peppy
  3. Smells newer than my last car (240sx :)
  4. Easy to work on.

Bent my ideals for a car over good mileage.

Generally all I want is

  1. Rear Wheel drive
  2. Auto Transmission
  3. Air Conditioning
  4. Good Mileage
  5. Power windows optional

Fun in a car = danger, tickets, higher insurance, body maiming, ruin.

As a former traffic signal tech I can attest to the pain inflicted on families of teens racing. It's a very disheartening thing to observe when a teen slams into a street light sideways, the light indenting the drivers side door a foot an a half. Life flight and 2 hours to pass on in the emergency room. Family at the crash site VERY dismayed and sad. All over a "fun" race up a 4 lane road. I have a LOT of stories like this doing 15yrs in the brig as a signal tech. Cops have many more. Met one once that kicked himself in the butt for forgetting body bags. Go figure.

Doesn't take much to make me happy. A cars just getting from pt. a to pt. b passing go, and no or low tax and dmv obligations, NO hi priced insurance.

The 240sx was "fun" but, it would not take off on a rainy day with rear wheels spinning. Cornered like a tiger on a dry day, hwy 16 from clear lake, ca. staying ahead of a vette. I can get the same "jag" from a cup of coffee or a pretty young lady in my arms.

Different mentality, flips from generation to generation. Kid sees parent laid back want excitement. Kid sees parents out of control fun, want a peaceful life. I'm the latter.

Keep the Faith Jesus Saves :) Everyone who wants to be.
