Remote Door Lock Stopped Working

Nov 10, 2007 3 Replies

We have a 2003 Toyota Sienna. It came with 2 door lock remotes.

A year after first buying, the first remote stopped working.

And then a year or so after that, the second remote stopped working.

Tried new batteries and it has not helped.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Maybe they need to be programmed to match your car's frequency. Check your manual or stop at the dealer and find out.

When did you buy the car? New (to you) or used?

You could try cleaning the contacts in the remotes, then, install new batteries. If the remotes stopped working in a separate time span, it's probably not the vehicle computer. There might be a possibility that the remotes are damaged. If you tend to keep many keys along side of them, sometimes just setting on them can crush the remote enough to damage circuitry. Just a thought.
