Greg, I wear my seatbelts most of the time. My point is that you should not have a law mandating people wearing them. It should be the choice of the person driving. Just like other 'freedoms' that we have. I see people wearing seat belts, doing road rage. Or people eating breakfast while driving - guess what - they are also wearing seat belts. Does this make them better?

Plus, in my opinion, speeding, which I do, should be farther up on the list of consequences than not wearing seat belts for a lot of the discussions here. It's funny how within 3 months I see some guy bragging about driving

95 + MPH and then chastizing others for not wearing seatbelts. I feel making sure your tires are not worn and inflated is more important than seatbelts.

Dan, agreed, but the seatbelts are another precaution. It's been drummed into me since I was a kid, and now I don't feel right driving without it fastened. A seatbelt has saved me once from serious injury, as has a motorcycle helmet.

Greg.

How do cigarettes give you 50/50 chance of dying? How in the world did you pull those odds out? Cigarettes increase your chances of developing some illness and possibly dying sooner than someone not smoking. What you are saying is that if you light up, you have 50/50 chance of dying right there and then?
