TIRERACK Screwed Me! (Plus fixed Leaky A/C drain)

I finally got around to taking the Toyota up to the shop to put my new Pirelli's on... and get this, when I got there I see that Tire Rack shipped me BF Goodrich Traction T/As instead!!

Well, I talked to my mechanic for a minute -- he said they were probably actually a little better than the Pirelli's I ordered.. And since I'm going on a long road trip in two weeks I said what the hell, put 'em on.

(I just looked, the BF Goodrich's were actually 10 bux more per tire)

While I was there he blew some compressed air in my A/C drain, which lets out just on the pass. side of center under the car (a little black rubber hose) and water came gushing.

Best part... he didn't charge me a cent! What a good guy he is...

but can you believe that crap about the tires!!! They are 'H' speed rated like the Pirelli's but holy mackerel man! Ship what I bought!!

TireRack should have let you know they planned to substitute a better tire and I agree that it would be appropriate for them to ask you if that was OK. But saying they 'screwed you' is a little harsh, don't you think?

And I would've gone along with it -- I was going to buy the tires they shipped at first but they were overbudget for me.

not at all. The only goddam thing they're supposed to do is pack-n-ship tires... if they can't get THAT right then yeah, they screwed me.
