Toyota Matrix vs. Pontiac Vibe ?

The Matrix has a lower sticker price and holds its resale value better. The bodies are different and that's a matter of personal choice. The Matrix has a longer drive train warranty and the Vibe has a longer rust through warranty. The dealers will be different.

In Canada, the drivetrain warranty is 100,000kms for the Vibe.

And the Vibe equipment and pricing is better (other than that -- the horn button and typically heavy-handed Toyota side-sculpting)

Likewise, your comment is insignificant. But what is significant is pricing because of currency. The Vibe is mfg in California and the Matrix is made in Ontario.

Your information is faulty. Both use the same body and drive train, only the trim is different. The Vibe, similarly equipped, has a lower MSRP. More important is the big difference in the drive home price between the two. The Vibe, similarly equipped, can be driven home for $2,000 to $3,000 less on average with a typical three year finance contract. Pontiac dealers discount more, give higher trade prices and the interest rate has been constantly at least two percent lower on loan from GM than Toyota. The Vibe has even been offered at zero interest. As a percentage of the drive home price the Vibe returns MORE of its original investment than does the Matrix, in resale value. As to the longer power train warranty, a 100,000 mile PT warranty can be had, for less than $200, from GM
