Sienna Oil Leak

May 26, 2005 2 Replies

At about 100k miles, my 2000 Sienna developed rear main seal leak. Quite expensive repair by dealer. None off the other Toys that I have owned over the years ever had such a problem.

Has anyone else experienced the problem?

My father's 87 Camry developed a rear oil seal leak probably by the time it was 5 years old and was low mileage. He just sold it this year with the leak. Annoying if you keep it in a garage. Would be ok in the city parked on the street.

If leak is minor, might leave it alone and monitor oil level. Try one of the stop leak additives or use high mileage oil with seal conditioner. read that the auto-rx treatment may stop seal leaks and clean out your engine.
