Hi there, I would like the antenna to be at a half-position instead of the full height. Whenever i power on the car, the antenna pulls itself back to full ht position and goes back when i power down. Is there a way to keep it at ONE POSITION?? Because of this movement, i guess the antenna is getting damaged.
Any inputs?
===================================== Not sure how your antenna is being damaged from normal operation. The best idea is to wipe the length of the mast and spray the joints with TriFlow regularly to keep it clean and operating smoothly. There are plastic drive teeth which eventually break, so less resistance helps a lot. To keep the antenna at one height you would have to remove the carpet in the trunk from the right side, (just pull out the plastic fasteners) then disconnect the electrical plug, have someone turn on the radio and then reconnect the wiring just long enough to get the antenna extended half way.
