1998 camry window alignment

the driver side power window would go out of track 3/4 of the way up. I replaced the regulator but problem continues. If I slightly push the glass to the track, I'm ok. is there an alignment adjustment on the reglator or the track ?

I had a similar issue on the passenger side. After having the door panel cover off, and examining the mechanism, there isn't any adjustment I could see that would affect the tracking and window coming out of the track (there is some adjustment that seems to affect the window hitting the top of travel squarely).

Being the inquisitive type, after a period of experimentation I deduced that the track pop out occurred as the glass entered front tapered part of the window track. Further examination reveled that the track clearance had been reduced at that point. Further investigation uncovered a light collision between the mirror and an underground parking lot post (it did take a bit of coaxing before my wife admitted to the encounter :-] ). The mirror attachment had bent the track frame just behind it. Restoring the track to its proper dimension cured my issue.

Might be the cause of yours? Has there been contact with the mirror, and another object while the vehicle was moving?

Well Louis, you will never guess what I found upon examination of the track... a pinch point exactly at the mirror ! I fixed it and the window works great. My wife has had many bumps and dings on the employee parking lot so I'm sure that was the cause.

again thanks !

Glad the information was useful.

Just out of curiosity how did you effect repairs?

Louis I place needle nose pliers in the pinch area and carefully opened them along the the track.

I used one of the thin/wide pry bars with mine, and twisted lightly by hand.

You might also consider a bit of silicone spray in each track.
