2003 Camry Air Conditioning problem

I have a 2003 Camry that I have rarely had any problems with. I noticed late last Fall that the A/C button would blink at me and wasn't putting out much cool air. I didn't think much about it since winter was coming on. Now that it's spring and warming up again, I have tried using the A/C and the green light blinks and the air conditioner isn't putting out any cool air. Before I take it to the dealer - can anyone give me ideas of what may be wrong with it. How much does A/C repairs generally cost, etc? I really don't know much about these things. Thanks for your help.

Had the same problem on my 2001. It was the A.C. relay located in the relay box in the engine compartments drivers side. There was a service bulletin on its replacement with a improved one. Toyota should know what you need..... "Sparki" wrote in message news:FP9Pj.76930$TT4.51660@attbi_s22... I have a 2003 Camry that I have rarely had any problems with. among the things (temperature sensor/pressure sensor, air flow motor etc) is that the RPMs between the ac compressor and the engine differ by too much. One thing you can do, exercising necessary caution near moving engine parts, is to look at the compressor clutch and see if it turns when the AC is turned on.

Loose belt, low refrigerant level, bad clutch bearing, seized compressor among the things will cause it not to turn.

Usually $100 for starter including charging. Not bad compared to some years ago R12 costs about $600 a pop with the stinking Ford garter spring seals.

I had the same problem and replaced the AC magnetic clutch relay. The AC started working like a dream. But later that same day, it wouldn't cool. No blinking light this time, just warm air. Any thoughts on what it could be?

It was the Clutch relay that needed replaced so the cost wasn't too bad. Thank goodness! What is the difference between a service bulletin and a recall? If Toyota knows it's a bad part and will need replaced - why not recall it? Just curious! "lobo" wrote in message news:tradnVKlvvbAzZDVnZ2dnUVZ snipped-for-privacy@earthlink.com...
