2008 camry seat killing my back

Last week I purchased my mother's off lease 08 camry LE with only 8400 miles. The car looks and rides brand new except the seat is killing my back and shoulder blades. I went on a short 80 mile trip saturday and within 10 miles my lower back went numb, legs tingled and then my shoulder and neck started hurting. I tried moving the seat to different positions, got a seat cushing from auto store then tried some homemade remedies to no avail. The car makes me miserable to drive, there is no way I could take this thing on a 8 hour long rode trip. If I can't find a solution will have to dump the car. Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it if so?

I have a 2000 Camry and compared to my uncles 2009, my seats are a bit more plushy. However, I ran into a similar problem with a 2006. Turns out the Lumbar support was as far out of the seat as possible which made driving very uncomfortable. Just a thought, there is no wheel for it it was an electric push button. if equipped, see if yours needs adjusting. Hope this helps! Nothing is worse than having a great car with an uncomfortable drivers seat!

My car does have the electric button for the lumbar support, I adjusted it several times and I still hurt. Today I was forced to drive my gas drinking 01 Silvarado but it felt so nice to not have a back ache within minutes. What I think part of the problem is the seat sets to low, my knees are pushed up a little higher which puts pressure on the back of my legs and back thus causing the pain. It sure is nice though to get

30.8 mpg 50/50 hwy/town vx 15! However if it is miserable to drive I don't care if it gets 50mpg.BTW, this is the same original poster, just using my old junky webtv tonight.

Ihad the same problem with my `92 Accord I took the car in to an automotive re-upholstery shop and they modified the seat back so it wouldnt push on my lower back. it wasnt too expensive either .

This was a few years ago, I would give that a try if I were you It worked for me, never had any back pain afterward .

A chiropractor will fix you up, only 32 treatments if it isn't to bad.

I have the same problem with my Camry and I had the same problem with my Su baru Forester. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to shop for a car when it seems that everything I try causes major back pain. I guess we are the few unlucky souls who for whatever reason do not fit the mold of many of today's seats. I sat in and drove at least 30 different cars and everything pushed on my l ower back too much. I thought the Camry was going to work for me, but after 1 day I was having symptoms similar to what I had before with the Camry. I'd be interested to know what else you've found in your search and if there any groups that e xist to figure out a solution to this issue.
