have problem to start Camry smoothly

Question

This is a 1999 Camry, of 100K milages. It works perfectly all the time untill yesterday.

If the car has been parked there for hours and I want to start it, I can hear the sound such as "gla-gla-gla" from under the hood, with no good. Until I step couple of times on the gas, then the car can be started.

Any suggesstions ?

Flat battery? If it's fuel injected, chances are pressing the acceleratorprobably doesn't solve or mask any problems.

It's great that you got as far as you did, 100K miles before your IAC acted up for the first time.  You have a couple of alernatives...go with a new one for $400, have a fuel induction service for $100 or so, or try cleaning it yourself with TriFlow or Redline.  Replacement will give you at least a year trouble-free.  Cleaning it will result in a shorter trouble-free period before cleaning it again.  Don't worry about it, it's very common and I would estimate that thousands of people dumped their Camrys because of it. Don't overreact even though your instincts may shout...Trade In Trade In.
