How to remove ugly warning stickers?

Howdy.

I have an 02 Camry. It has those huge, ugly, white, yellow, and red "warning" stickers on the visors; driver AND passenger side.

These are stuck directly on the felt-like material of the visor and seem to be *very* firmly adhered. Does anyone know how to remove them? I didn't want to try to get a corner loose, then pull them off...I thought that might just leave something much uglier.

Man, I *hate* nasty, permanent "warning" stickers and stuff like that on my vehicles. The first thing I do is remove all that kind of crap (including various dealer decals and tags on the rear and license plate ads). I did notice that finally, after 20+ years of leaded gas being unavailable, they stopped putting "Unleaded Gas Only" in big letters on the dash board right under the fuel indicator.

Anyway, rant off. Anyone know how to remove those nasty stickers?

Removing the stickers isn't going to be as hard as removing the glue that is left after you pull 'em off.

If you insist, try a heat gun (or hair dryer). But don't blame me if you don't like the residue that is left.

I already blame you for all of the woes in my life, so what's the biggie with this? ;-)

OK, if it leaves nasty glue residue, I'm wondering if some of that "Goo Gone" stuff would remove that?

I guess everyone just leaves those stickers there? Ugh, I can't stand 'em! The interior looks great until you notice those horrible things....

I think it would make a bigger mess of the visor material.

After a while you won't even notice 'em any more. I don't.

Is it possible to remove both visors and swap them to the other side of the car? I don't know how the hole patterns line up. That way the stickers would be on the opposite side and you would see them less often.

You have to remember that the visors are trimmed in Polyester, and anything that may potentially remove the glue may melt the fabric! Test before doing anything!

Yeah, but it's like dirving a Navistar with the glariong warnings about air brakes, etc.

Instead of removing them, why not put something you'd like on top of them, or something plain but the same color as the visors?

----------------------------- Just part of the car. Don't believe you're going to be able to remove them without making things look even worse. Personally, I just don't use the sun visors very often. I most often use the driver side visor turned over to the side window. That way you don't see the sticker and it still works farily well. If the sun is coming in the front window, I can usually just pull my head back a bit further and cut the glare since I sit fairly upright, with the seat back in the full upright position. Actually the sun visors are one element of the Camry I'm not overly fond of. They don't seem to have good adjustability - that is, it is either up or down - no middle position. On my 1977 Toyota truck you can position the visors a few degrees different all along their path which is a lot more helpful. Also, the sun visor in the down position seems to bounce around a bit more than I'd like. But when you have it over on the side window, it seems to work just fine, plus you only see the covered, non sticker side.

Guido has the right idea. Just take them to an upholstery shoppe and have 'em covered in matching cloth.

That way the covers can be removed for resale of the car if it's required................

You are neurotic. Just ignore them.
