Removing 1996 Camry Dash to install gauges

Are you talkaing the center of the dash, or the instrument cluster?

On the instrument cluster, there should be three screws at the top. Remove these. Then, remove the lower dash cover, 4-6 screws. Then, drop the steering cloumn, just to make removal easier, so you don't snap anything when removing it. There should be 2-4 more screws after you removed the lower dash cover. Remove these. Then slide the Inst. cluster aout an disconnect everything. Simple, eh? (Note, not for the faint of heart, esp if you don't like the sound of snapping plastic...)

While your at it, get some of those REALLY bright blue lights. Makes a good effect at night!

Be aware that you have airbags in there and you want to make sure you dont trigger them..

I'm sorry.

Of course he's right! I have all older Toys with no airbags, and on the Tercel I didn't have to drop the wheel to get the dash panel out!

This can be solved by disconnecting the Negative terminal on the battery.
