I am experiencing a sulfer like smell when I accelerate. It appears to be originating from the exhaust. Anyone else with the same problem? Any guess to what may be the cause? I'm thinking it may be the catalytic converter. Joe

Joe,
It's normal in the Toyotas. It goes away after a while - sometimes re-visiting. Lookup google on these threads way back. I had the same problem and it went away. Only happens now when I gun the 4 runner.

Since new, no V-6 sulpher smell, running on New England gasoline.
Try a different brand gas -- surfur content varies. Its not a problem.
There is actually a TSB on this -- don't know exact content.
