Got about 1,000 miles on it. The temp gage is slightly (but noticeably) past the halfway mark with and without the A/C on. No other car I've ever owned ran this hot including a 95 Camry. Will it come down or is it normal for this engine?

on my '03, the gauge has always been exactly at the 1/2 way mark. Probably nothing to worry about but I'd check your coolant level and fan clutch as well. Chances are you have a thermostat that opens at slightly higher temps than average.
I'll probably try to beat the dealer into replacing the thermostat @ 5,000 miles. Thanks for the info.
Off subject but what kind of mileage are you getting, 2w or 4w?
I was thinking of tradeing in my CR-V for a 4 door 4x4 auto, don't know if I will be happy with the reduced mpg.
Thanks
Tom
