I have a 96 Tacoma with the V6 that just rolled over 100,000. For the last two oil changes I've been a quart low. Is it just me or does it seem a little odd for one of these engines to be consuming oil this early in life?

I would think so. I have a 96 T-100 with 218,000 miles and it does not use a drop. A little oil on the back of the valve covers and that's it.

They're allowed to use a little bit when they get that far - but check for external leaks before you panic. Might be something simple to fix like a valve cover or the pan is loose. Stuff happens; gaskets squish, bolts back out... ;-)
