99 Tacoma V6 question..

Dec 18, 2003 2 Replies

Hello all,

I have a couple of questions regarding my Tacoma and how it acts when I have the engine revving rather high. I notice this problem the most often when in

3rd or 4th gear and the pedal is floored. As the engine starts revving high I notice the engine misses or pauses a couple of times but only when it is really being revved up.

The other time it misses is when the engine is cold and this just started to happen recently. The truck is a 99 Tacoma V6 with 87000 miles on it. This is the only problem I have ever had and could not be more happy with Toyota.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Scott..

What have you done to try to fix it so far? Obvious first attempts (just plain good maintenance too!) - new OEM plug wires, distributor cap, and plugs, Chevron Techron FI cleaner, new fuel/air filter, clean throttle body. Good compression check.

I have not tried to do anything yet, thought I would ask first what other people have tried to do.

Thanks though,
