Air Conditioner

May 19, 2004 1 Replies
96 Tacoma 4X4 auto 106000 miles. Had the timing belt and water pump replaced this winter. Just tried to start the air conditioner and it doesn't seem to engage. The green light comes on, but you don't hear or notice the compressor or engine RPM change. It was working great last year so I don't think it's the freon charge (R-134a). It seems like the wires have been hooked back up and the fuse is OK. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

It could be anything from a bad a/c switch, bad compressor clutch, bad wiring connector, bad low pressure cut-out switch, total loss of refrigerant charge...lots of possibilities.
