What cam shaft would be ideal for a 22R. Already have a weber 33mm, Good headers, cleaned out head. and 3.5in (i think...?at least bigger than stock ) exhaust to 2 chamber flowmasters. All i want is as much low end tork as i can get. will be adding a glass pack to quiet it down and add back presure as needed any thoughts?

The fastest and easiest way to do this is to decrease your wheel diameter. In '75 celicas came with 13" wheels. '76 and later came with
14" wheels. The trick was a toy store header (which turned out to be made by Hooker), bigger jets in the carb (I think they were 21's), remove all anti smog except what the vsv needed to work, mill the head
35/1000ths, toy store springs, (lower by 1.5") and bilsteins, konis, or kyb according to your cash. I got a deal on the konis and some BFGoodrich tires. I later got a modified cam from the toy store in Gardena, Cali. The Toy Store doesn't exist anymore. A couple of people have responded to my posts about it, but even though they were familiar with it and their products, they were also looking for replacements. I've since graduated to a better income bracket, and only play with newer stuff now. I'll stick to TRD. (it's about time, I'm probably old enough to be this group's Grandpa)
My understanding is that TRD came up from the California racing scene, trying to find a way to coopt that market and be able to warranty the products. I'd call them, ask what they have for your application. If you can't afford it, look for products that mimic it. Toyota's long suit has never really been extreme performance, rather great performance with unmatched reliability. And Toyota does have unmatched reliability.
The really hot deal in the '80s was to get "Tiger" remanufactured engines from Japan. A grand a pop was way beyond my military pay. But they did advertise 22R twincams. Those motors must still exist. I really wish I could tell you where to find one, but I have no idea anymore. I'd try to cultivate a sympathetic ear at TRD and work from there....
...'nuff said, sorry I broke your ear
