Dealer Tires

I need a set of tires for my '95 4x4, they are 31's and pretty expensive. I got a coupon from the dealer that said buy 3 get one free and ordered some Dunlops at $129.00 a piece. Is it a good idea to buy from the dealer?

yeah just make sure they balance them right...i dont know for sure if your wheels are hub centric or lug centric but if theyre hub centric theyll need to use a hawkea adapter to make it so they dont shake like hell

for their ratings of tires for your vehicle. Look before you leap - kind of makes you wonder why the dealer has them - most dealers are not in the tire bus.

Dealerships are getting into the tire business. Maybe they want to be one-stop auto facilities so they can gouge the customer more for repairs. In any case, if the price is good for those tires, OK. I'm not a Dunlop fan, except their German snow tires, the M2 and M3. Dunlop is one of Goodyear's brands, and Goodyear has made second rate tires for a long time, in my opinion. GY's new SilentArmor and TripleTred tires are the exception...I think they're good.

LUG-centric wheels need the adapter for balancing, of which Hawkewa is one brand of adapter.

It's a good idea to shop. If the dealer's offer is the best you can find, then it's a good idea to buy there.

Usually, the dealer isn't the best place to buy tires, but on occasion they come through with the best prices.
